About the Artist

Julia Swanson is a Boston based multidisciplinary artist, multimedia producer and award winning photographer who has been creating dynamic visual, written and multimedia art and creative experiences for over two decades.

With degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, the New England School of Photography and Northeastern University her art is an act of exploration, discovery and resilience. Projects like the Dom Perignon Abstracts and The Decentralized Dance Party, Boston along with her most recent project The Art Walk Project reflect a passion for storytelling and innovation.

Over the years her work as been reckognized earning multiple awards, teaching positions and grants, and she has been featured in multiple news outlets and publications including The Boston Globe, Artscope Magazine, Innovation Showcase, Open studio with Jared Bowen, and U-Mass Magazine.

Since 2023 Julia has been a regular contributor on The Culture Show on GBH News and she has been working in partnership with local civic and cultural organizations to create media, graphics and experiences that engage our community through creativity as well as continuing to produce her own projects.
