About the Artist

Julia Swanson is a Boston based multidisciplinary artist, multimedia producer and award winning photographer who explores culture and innovation through dynamic visual, written and multimedia art.

At the heart of her work is a belief that it is diversity in all things that adds depth to the human experience. With projects like the Dom Perignon Abstracts and The Decentralized Dance Party, Boston along with her most recent project, The Art Walk Project, her work employs a fusion of different mediums to explore culture and innovation wherever she might find it.

With degrees from U-Mass Amherst, The New England School of Photography and Northeastern University her work continues to evolve and has earned multiple awards, teaching positions and grants, and has been featured in multiple news outlets and publications including The Boston Globe, Artscope Magazine, U-Mass Magazine and Hollywood Life..

Since 2023 Julia has been a regular contributor on The Culture Show on GBH News and she has been working in partnership with local civic and cultural organizations to develop events and programming that engage our community through creativity, as well as continuing to produce independent projects of her own.
